Yes, I am. Okay, suppose the following, then -- the link is a cable modem or
other link not requiring pppd. Is there actually a "natd" that I have to
install?

You can see where this is heading -- I'm trying to get my friend to switch his
box to FreeBSD because I want to tell him it's easier without all those
imbecilic hacked Linux LKMs for using ftpd, yadda yadda :-)
