how about the local waste-disposal facility ?  We used that a lot
here in .dk

You drive up there with your disk, drop it into a special hole they
have for that kind of services, and after 5 seconds in free fall,
your goods are in a very nice 1500 C environment that satisfies 
most if not all NATO requirements for destruction of data.
