My BOCA 4-port board is actually an 8 port with only one of the serial controller chips in it. Thus, it controls only 4 ports. I can purchase the chip to populate the empty socket for the other 4 ports, but I'm reluctant to do so, since I'm not really using the board, and it doesn't have all of the modem lines (like CD). It does have all 8 RJ connecters on the back end. Only 4 are usable with the one serial chip on the board, though. I like my FastComm-4 board. It works similar to an AST 4-port.
