The Intel PR440 (Dual PPro) motherboard claims to have "Hardware monitor 
ASIC" at 0x0290-0x0297.  Unfortunately, the datasheet doesn't tell you 
any more about this hardware - it suggests that you access it via the DMI 
BIOS.
