Hello! When I first made the port years ago, OpenSSL was an optional component, so I went through some trouble to ensure using FreeBSD's -lmd. However, OpenSSL is standard now and, importantly, some of its routines are hand-optimized to be quicker than the same functions in -lmd. Should I modify the port to use OpenSSL's -lcrypto instead of -lmd? Thanks for suggestions! -mi
