Subject: /usr/bin/patch missing

When I do a make on a port, it stops with an error code 1, and reports
before that, that /usr/bin/patch is missing. This is the case with
all ports when I try doing a 'make' on them.

What is /usr/bin/patch?

How can I remedy this problem?

Thanks,
- Ben Salem
