Try mkhybrid, it makes bootable CD's.. And you don't need to use a floppy disk either,
since it takes a disk image (which lo and behold make release creates)

Also mkhybrid allows you to make a Joliet/RR disk which means you can get long filenames
in FreeBSD and Windows, probably doesn't matter to you that much tho :)
