I have a freebsd 2.2.5 (10.1.1.1) and a win95 machine (10.1.1.2) connected through a hub using twisted pair. I can ping outside from the bsd box, if I ping from 10.1.1.1 -> 10.1.1.2 both lights on the hub blink as if its reaching but I get: # ping 10.1.1.2 PING 10.1.1.2 (10.1.1.2): 56 data bytes ping: sendto: Host is down ping: sendto: Host is down If I ping from 10.1.1.2 -> 10.1.1.1 same case I get blinking lights on both but get "Request timed out" It seems like I have a config problem if I ping an un-used ip from either machine ie (10.1.1.1 -> 10.1.1.3) only the 10.1.1.1 light blinks on the hub. Both are on the same subnet mask. Thanks To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
