I have got a machine running freebsd = 2.2.7 with=20 one ethernetcard and ip adres for it. I want to add an alias to=20 that.
I have tried ifconfig = with:
#ifconfig fxp0 inet 62.12.26.142 = netmask=20 0xffffffe0 alias
but I get an error = saying:
#ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): File = exists
When I look at the device with ifconfig after that = it has been=20 added, but it does not work, no response with ping.
 
any idee someone??
