Well, no, FreeBSD isn't Unix -- just asks the lawyers and judge in the USL
lawsuit.  Unix is actually a trademark, although both FreeBSD and Linux can
be described as Unix-like.  You are correct in terms of FreeBSD having a
long "Unix" heritage.
