FreeBSD-CURRENT has support for cardbus however, if you want to try installing that. I got my dell to install -CURRENT over a cardbus ethernet card, but I had to build a custom kern.flp that had cardbus enabled in order to do this. I was thinking about trying to do a port from current to stable this summer if nobody else had done it yet.
