Hi, I've noticed when building mail/thunderbird, the -j flag doesn't propagate beyond the first instance of gmake. Is it impossible to build mail/thunderbird in parallel? I've noticed this on my VBox guests running stable/{8,9,10} and head, running on a VBox host with 4 cores. As a counter, www/firefox does build in parallel. -- +-------------------------------+------------------------------------+ | Vennlig hilsen, | Best regards, | | Trond Endrestøl, | Trond Endrestøl, | | IT-ansvarlig, | System administrator, | | Fagskolen Innlandet, | Gjøvik Technical College, Norway, | | tlf. mob. 952 62 567, | Cellular...: +47 952 62 567, | | sentralbord 61 14 54 00. | Switchboard: +47 61 14 54 00. | +-------------------------------+------------------------------------+ From owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Apr 18 13:59:20 2014 Return-Path: <owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG> Delivered-To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [8.8.178.115]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ADH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 0BE82CDF for <freebsd-questions@freebsd.org>; Fri, 18 Apr 2014 13:59:20 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mail-ob0-x22f.google.com (mail-ob0-x22f.google.com [IPv6:2607:f8b0:4003:c01::22f]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-RC4-SHA (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G2" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id CB9771323 for <freebsd-questions@freebsd.org>; Fri, 18 Apr 2014 13:59:19 +0000 (UTC) Received: by mail-ob0-f175.google.com with SMTP id wp4so1804409obc.6 for <freebsd-questions@freebsd.org>; Fri, 18 Apr 2014 06:59:19 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20120113; h=mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date:message-id:subject:from:to :content-type; bh=2rtQHM+3KE0ZMMAuju6FhoHDbaW6ov63+TY0epjFA3A=; b=iXrc61Ts93JhVLWjR/MgqI2cmm6dzjoORFei2qoLS1fxMKUg8jXmRUYgaPNzdIY6BR pbbQYnQqei01gkA7XSfBjqu1+vu+QVyhppz/rOpCgl4pA65IKfBFqWTebxujQvmv37E4 pk5viOvvrcpUZAOLenYOsqTVhHLokgx5jZcSHNCIWcBiZWLXw7fx88OcZ9xFUU5/+i6n NhZB1AQsORoBYXeQPnXDbMwhaiJxZe7z8xA1W9nrHJHLIfdYKuaDGdgCIFOsS6FsgWVW w+LHZgrP4zB6Q2IrsIt63FVNxU8d+5tUQCLjOUJIK8JRN5c6ee+fZ3kzex3/tFdFACKs BBng== MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Received: by 10.182.225.137 with SMTP id rk9mr2145929obc.51.1397829559132; Fri, 18 Apr 2014 06:59:19 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.76.100.132 with HTTP; Fri, 18 Apr 2014 06:59:19 -0700 (PDT) In-Reply-To: <CAJ5UdcO1=pEHownza5VGH7wd06e3QhGr-yxuUPJvVXBvH1HbLg@mail.gmail.com> References: <CAJ5UdcO1=pEHownza5VGH7wd06e3QhGr-yxuUPJvVXBvH1HbLg@mail.gmail.com> Date: Fri, 18 Apr 2014 08:59:19 -0500 Message-ID: <CAJ5UdcN=tWa-JWUSnmCU7mBH_C8N-9++WXsh5rqV1sS0JxQQNg@mail.gmail.com> Subject: Re: portmaster ports update 20140416 From: Antonio Olivares <olivares14031@gmail.com> To: FreeBSD Questions <freebsd-questions@freebsd.org> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 X-BeenThere: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.17 Precedence: list List-Id: User questions <freebsd-questions.freebsd.org> List-Unsubscribe: <http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/options/freebsd-questions>, <mailto:freebsd-questions-request@freebsd.org?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: <http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-questions/> List-Post: <mailto:freebsd-questions@freebsd.org> List-Help: <mailto:freebsd-questions-request@freebsd.org?subject=help> List-Subscribe: <http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions>, <mailto:freebsd-questions-request@freebsd.org?subject=subscribe> X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 18 Apr 2014 13:59:20 -0000 On Fri, Apr 18, 2014 at 8:22 AM, Antonio Olivares <olivares14031@gmail.com> wrote: > Dear folks, > > I am having great difficulties in updating my machines :( > > I am running suggested command here: > > 20140416: > AFFECTS: users of print/freetype2 textproc/libxml2 x11/pixman > x11/libxcb and graphics/freeglut > AUTHOR: x11@FreeBSD.org and gnome@FreeBSD.org > > The library version of the above libraries has been brought in line > with what upstream expects.
