[-- Attachment #1 --] Hey there all, Silly thing. I have a home server that I leave connected to the vga port on my TV. Previously, I had dragon_saver or fire_saver running just so if you switched to that input you’d see something pretty (I only connect a keyboard when there’s a problem). The kernel module loads fine, per the knob in rc.conf, but under 12.3 (i386) it doesn’t seem to be starting. Neither dragon or fire works (haven’t tried the rest). Anyone can confirm this? -Dan Related q: is there a way to run “vidcontrol” to set the timeout via ssh (i.e. affect the console) root@hammock:/etc # grep -i 'vga' /var/run/dmesg.boot VT(vga): resolution 640x480 vtvga0: <VT VGA driver> on motherboard vgapci0: <VGA-compatible display> port 0xff00-0xff07 mem 0xfdf00000-0xfdf7ffff,0xd0000000-0xdfffffff,0xfdf80000-0xfdfbffff irq 16 at device 2.0 on pci0 agp0: <Intel 945GME SVGA controller> on vgapci0 vgapci0: Boot video device VT(vga): resolution 640x480 vtvga0: <VT VGA driver> on motherboard vgapci0: <VGA-compatible display> port 0xff00-0xff07 mem 0xfdf00000-0xfdf7ffff,0xd0000000-0xdfffffff,0xfdf80000-0xfdfbffff irq 16 at device 2.0 on pci0 agp0: <Intel 945GME SVGA controller> on vgapci0 vgapci0: Boot video device VT(vga): resolution 640x480 vtvga0: <VT VGA driver> on motherboard vgapci0: <VGA-compatible display> port 0xff00-0xff07 mem 0xfdf00000-0xfdf7ffff,0xd0000000-0xdfffffff,0xfdf80000-0xfdfbffff irq 16 at device 2.0 on pci0 agp0: <Intel 945GME SVGA controller> on vgapci0 vgapci0: Boot video device VT(vga): resolution 640x480 vtvga0: <VT VGA driver> on motherboard vgapci0: <VGA-compatible display> port 0xff00-0xff07 mem 0xfdf00000-0xfdf7ffff,0xd0000000-0xdfffffff,0xfdf80000-0xfdfbffff irq 16 at device 2.0 on pci0 agp0: <Intel 945GME SVGA controller> on vgapci0 vgapci0: Boot video device [-- Attachment #2 --] <html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="">Hey there all,</span><br style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class=""><br style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class=""><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="">Silly thing.
