 From your log...

(WW) checkDevMem: failed to open /dev/mem (Permission denied)

Check permissions & ownership on /usr/local/bin/Xorg
Specifically, verify that it is installed setuid root.  For example,

-r-sr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  1695792 May 17  2010 /usr/local/bin/Xorg*

You can also try using x11/wrapper instead of installing the x server
setuid root.
