Until the likelihood of an incompatible release of pkg(8) being more frequent than releases on each supported branch, pkg(8) really has to stay out of base. Yes, this is a real problem, though hardly an insurmountable one, but putting pkg(8) in base right now or in the immediate future is simply not practical. This has been re-stated many, many times on various mailing lists. I'm sure that this is not the last time, either. -- Kevin Oberman, Part time kid herder and retired Network Engineer E-mail: rkoberman@gmail.com PGP Fingerprint: D03FB98AFA78E3B78C1694B318AB39EF1B055683
