Fetchmail?

/usr/ports/mail/fetchmail

Sample configuration:

poll pop.server.com with protocol pop3
        user loginname there with password ***** is loginname here
        options fetchall

Enjoy.

Requires a working local MTA.

You might want to use procmail to filter the mail into mailboxes.
