I also strongly believe that the "PORTVERSION" field should be implemented at the same time as Kris Kennaway suggested. That along with the appropriate updates to pkg_* will really make everybodies life easier in upgrading various packages. Go for it! If I can be of any help, I am willing to spend sometime upgrade ports to the proper format. Patrick.
