I have had tried to install+use linux-mozilla w/o any extra
components (venkman, chatzilla, dom inspector, mail+news) in past
and quite recently.

If some of the otherwise optional component were missing, mozilla's
GUI would comes out quite funky (missing various main toolbar
sections like "Edit", "File") and/or unusable (mouse clicks do not
respond when clicking the "Bookmarks").

To be able to use mozilla w/ minimum of extra overhead, i tried
choosing some options (on FreeBSD 5.3-p17). Below is the usability
table for some of the options ...

  Component Main Personal Mouse Keyboard
  Chosen Toolbar Toolbar Response Response
  -----------------------------------------------------------
none View, Go, Home, none none
               Bookmarks Bookmarks
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  chatzilla ( -- as "none" -- )
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  inspector ( -- as "none" -- )
  ----------------------------------------------------------
  mail[0] normal[1] ( -- as "none" --) some:
                                                 "Quit"
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  spell- ( -- as "none" -- )
  checker[2]
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  venkman ( -- as "none" -- )
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  inspector, ( -- as "mail" -- )
  mail
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  chatzilla, ( -- as "mail" -- )
  mail
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  venkman, ( -- as "mail" -- ) none
  mail
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  chatzilla, ( -- completely just as expected[3] -- )
  inspector,
  mail

[0] Crashes after clicking various menu entries, buttons here &
      there.

[1] All the menu entries were shown, "File" thru "Help"

[2] Tried to quit mozilla via its own "Quit" function through the
keyboard. Then tried to kill the window through fvwm function,
X kind of hanged. After switching to console & killing
mozilla from there, X went to being normal.

[3] All the menu entries were shown; items of "Personal Toolbar"
were recognized; mouse & key bindings were working just fine.

It seems, from above that, at least "mail" component is needed to be
able to have the right entries in the mail toolbar. Further,
addition of both "chatzilla" & "inspector" allows the use of
keyboard and the mouse. This mixture of components also enable the
recognition of "Personal Toolbar" items.

Would it not be reasonable then to limit OPTIONS to "spellchecker"
and "venkman" only for "www/linux-mozilla" port?
