Oh, ok, so it needs a couple more things, like variables defining which interfaces to listen on; but that's an implementation detail ;) The point is, there *is* a startup script provided, it is listed in the packaging list, the 'make install' port target tells you about it - you just need to customize it a little bit to get it to work.
