In rc.conf I have: portmap_enable=3D"YES" nfs_server_enable=3D"YES" But on reboot, kernel gives the message: Jan 2 19:39:13 topaz nfsd:[107]: can't register with udp portmap and mountd times out. Consequently the NFS server is never enabled :-( The machine I am trying to enable 4.2Stable is a web/email server machine= and all interfaces are working properly and pinging is also successful. The ifconfig -a output is as follows: dc0: flags=3D8843 mtu 1500 inet 192.168.1.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255 inet6 fe80::2a0:ccff:fe5a:f411%dc0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 ether 00:a0:cc:5a:f4:11 media: autoselect (100baseTX) status: active supported media: autoselect 100baseTX 100baseTX 10baseT/UTP 10baseT/UTP none lp0: flags=3D8810 mtu 1500 lo0: flags=3D8049 mtu 16384 inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x3 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xffffff00 ppp0: flags=3D8010 mtu 1500 sl0: flags=3Dc010 mtu 552 faith0: flags=3D8000 mtu 1500 gif0: flags=3D8010 mtu 1280 gif1: flags=3D8010 mtu 1280 gif2: flags=3D8010 mtu 1280 gif3: flags=3D8010 mtu 1280 ----------------------------------------------------------------- I looked up similar problems in the mail archives of this and freebsd-questions, but I could not find a solution. Sorry if this is a repetition. Thanks, Umesh PS: I am not subscribed to this list, so it will great if you CC'ed me on= your replies. ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=3D= 1 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
