I just upgraded my 5.1-release to gnome 2.4 and metacity is terribly broken. Other parts of gnome are also broken but using metacity 2.6.1 makes gnome 2.4 unusable. I reverted back to metacity 2.4.55_1 to get a usable system. Metacity 2.6.1 -- crashes when gimp starts up. kills an application when any dialog window is closed by the window's close control. most dialog windows open with 0 size. All I get is a very small window frame. windows open in all kinds of crazy sizes. gnome-terminal windows can open very big, very small, tall and skinny, short and wide, or the right size. Randy
