Most "number crunching weenies" I know are among the least "computer interested" people I know. I think I'm going to look into the Portland Group stuff Steve Kargl described. Sounds like a plan might be to recommend FBSD, Walnut Creek, XIG, and Portland Group compilers when evangelizing to this bunch. (I say XIG because they have an experimental hardware accelerated OpenGL project going on.)
