Olivier, by now you may already have installed -- successfully! I had the same question and did a Google search that turned up a reference in an update doc that had not yet made it to the dist. The answer is yes -- onboard scsi is supported on the ultra-2. my install was successful -- no problem there. The prob i did find was with QFE card support; they all appear as hme, have the correct individual MAC addresses--- but little else, and errors galore. good luck! -jacques. > > From: Olivier Cherrier <oc@symacx.com> > Date: 2005/02/12 Sat AM 09:38:30 EST > To: freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org > Subject: Onboard SCSI controller support on Ultra 2 > > Hello, > > On the http://www.freebsd.org/platforms/sparc.html page, as well as in > the 5.3 > release notes, we can read that the onboard SCSI controller esp(4) is > supported on Ultra 2 to boot from. > I just downloaded the 5.3-STABLE-SNAP001-sparc64-miniinst.iso file and > seen that > the HARDWARE.HTM file doen't mention this update and still says that > Ultra 2 need > to be net-booted. > It seems that there is a problem here. > > I will burn this iso file and install it on my Ultra 2 to see. > > Bye, > > -- > oc > > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-sparc64@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-sparc64 > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-sparc64-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >
