I attempted to install RedHat 5.0 yesterday for just this purpose. However, if the Adaptec 2940U I was using was in the system, it would explode as soon as it tried to talk to it. Then I switched to an NCR875-based controller, and the driver enlessly timed out. And it didn't support the Qlogic card I have either. So, time to look for another controller.
