Set on to off in /etc/ttys for ttyv8, kill -HUP 1 and if the message does not stop, reboot the machine. Then start by running xdm from the command line (as root) and inspect /var/log/Xorg.0.log if no screen comes up. -- Mel Problem with today's modular software: they start with the modules and never get to the software part.
