I wish to redirect the target from /usr/local to e.g. /opt. Installing with /stand/sysinstall from the CD seems to work alright. Installing from /usr/ports/xxxx doesn't find /cdrom. /cdrom is mounted. I've even tried to cd to the proper directory. But make install in /usr/ports/xxx seems not to find any of the tarballs. Q1: Is it possible to redirect the /stand/sysinstall from the CD somehow. CD-installing works alright, but I want to redirect it. Q2: An idiot-question? How do I install a tarball? Wich commands? I don't mean tar etc. I mean the install commands to compile etc. "Installing by hand". I've done this in Linux. Is it (exactly?) the same?
