Great, it appears that I have fixed the panic problem. I'd also appreciate a dmesg of a boot -v when you boot up with the card already inserted. If the 'lot of messages' are different, I'd appreciate a copy of that too. And yes, I forgot to mention that you need to apply the sio patch you had if you want your modem to work.
