If you want to do a simple install look at the /bin directory. I have downloaded the iso from ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/ISO-IMAGES/. This is a 650MB file. I have Adaptec's EZ-CD Creator and used it to burn an image on to CD-R material, which created a 4.1-release CDROM. It depends on how much bandwidth you have. I downloaded 4.0-Release on a 56kb modem and it required 40 hours. There was a lot of congestion when I tried the same thing for 4.1 via my DSL and the download required 5 hours. > > So question is am I able to copy those soft links in a > way that I will be > able to maintain it as it is on the server? I don't think there is anything comparable on Win 9x at the directory level. You are seeing directories soft linked to other HD's.
