X-BeenThere: freebsd-fs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Filesystems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 21 Sep 2010 09:38:38 -0000 Ok here's the results from without limiting ARC in anyway in loader.conf ARC Size: Current Size: 15.08% 1544.27M (arcsize) Target Size: (Adaptive) 15.08% 1544.47M (c) Min Size (Hard Limit): 12.50% 1280.00M (c_min) Max Size (High Water): ~8:1 10240.00M (c_max) Mem: 40M Active, 4849M Inact, 1671M Wired, 199M Cache, 20M Buf, 159M Free Swap: 4096M Total, 784K Used, 4095M Free So in effect we have a machine with 7GB of RAM but we are only getting 1.5GB worth of caching, the rest is being eaten up by memory sendfile forces into Inact and ARC never seems to push back to balance this out :( Next test is going to be sendfile off but keeping no manual tuning.
