However, the real problem is that when Nick Hibma ported the NetBSD USB code to FreeBSD, he did not port over all the code dealing with the tty drivers, due to problems he had with the communications stack (this is a paraphrase of a private email I received from him last week, so it may be somewhat off the mark). Nick said that he doesn't have the time nor inclination to work on the FreeBSD USB code at this time, so it's not likely that the NetBSD code will ported unless someone else has the time and motivation to do so. Nick might be willing to provide advice for someone who wants to attempt it, but you'd have to check with him at n_hibma@freebsd.org.
