While I think you're going a little far here, people did go to a lot of trouble to indicate that, despite the name, 3.0-RELEASE was expected to be a little flaky. In fact, it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't a good idea to run it on production systems. 3.1-RELEASE will be out in a week or two; you'd be well advised to move to that as soon as possible.
