At this point, the system seems to operate normally. I've reloaded the system twice on my harddrive, following a DOS fdisk to = remove any previous data installed on the FBSD slice. No change. I install the O= S, all of the packages;as well as, X 4.x and bash from the ports collection. =20 I install X 4.x, because "The FreeBSD Hand Book" states this version of X= is required to support a VooDoo 5 card using a glide driver. I installed the bash she= ll, because it stated this shell is best for new Unix users. I apologize for all the rhetoric. How do you suggest I determine the caus= e of the =20 system hang during the boot?
