  * configure:Error: invalid option 'i386--freebsd3.1'
 
 Seems like apache doesn't use GNU configure even though it seems so.
 Does it work if you change the line "GNU_CONFIGURE=yes" to
 "HAS_CONFIGURE=yes"?
