The 'CVS' way of doing thing is to have each developer check out > their own copy of things, not to have a shared repository. Commonly used everywhere I've worked. And this is not because I initate it; I specifically try to get people to not do this unless it is clearly the most efficient way for them to work, and I can not remember ever having made the suggestion.
