Also have you tried to change the sata settings in the bios from AHCI to RAID or compat ? I am currently using the G5 , G5p and G7 with 7.3 , 7.4 and 8.3 and , I have seen this issue once or twice but I could not remember what the fix was. I think playing with the bios options for AHCI and reseatting the cables and backplane resolved this for me the last time. --=20 mark saad | nonesuch@longcount.org
