 Using fossil to fetch a revision won't ever be accepted in the ports tree
 as we need a proper distinfo, however fossil provide a nice mechanism to
 get reliable distfiles out of fossil checkins.
 
 Have a look at what I have done in ports-mgmt/poudriere-devel, I think you
 may want the same thing.
