I am new at this as well, and had some help installing FreeBSD, so I'm not precisely certain about how I set up the bash configuration. But it does work, and isn't giving me problems. If this setup *is* unusual (and it sounds like it is?) I guess I should live it up now; I may not be able to do this again?
