Before I begin, I'd like to say I've read the news archives and the mail archives, and understand that this works under -current. What I'd like to know is if it'll work under 2.1.5-Release ? I see the /compat/ibcs2 directory exists, and it's dev looks like lrwxrwxr-x 1 root wheel 9 Jul 14 23:30 X0R -> /dev/null lrwxrwxr-x 1 root wheel 9 Jul 14 23:30 nfsd -> /dev/null lrwxrwxr-x 1 root wheel 9 Jul 14 23:30 null -> /dev/null lrwxrwxr-x 1 root wheel 9 Jul 14 23:30 socksys -> /dev/null crw-rw-r-- 1 root wheel 41, 1 Jul 14 23:30 spx (i created spx with mknod spx c 41 1) I've also included spx_hack as an option in my kernel. It doesn't work however. I've changed the hostname from chain.iafrica.com to chain to quite a few others (i.e. under 8 letters). I've also gone to /dev, and MAKEDEV socksys : none of it helps. It gives the following error(s) : [chain] /usr/wp/wpbin# xwp libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such file or directory Error: Can't open display: chain:0.0 [chain] /usr/wp/wpbin# export | grep DISPLAY declare -x DISPLAY="chain:0.0" [chain] /usr/wp/wpbin# Regards, Khetan Gajjar. --- http://www.chain.iafrica.com/~khetan/ UUNet-Internet Africa Operations - 0800-030-002
