Does FreeBSD 2.2.7 run well under amd k6-II 300 MHZ ?

Can i install freebsd 2.2.7 in a system that has only adaptec 2940?
As far as i know, 2.2.7 does not such support in its boot.flp!
How can i build such a floppy with support to this adaptec 2940 ?
