(Everything else required had already been installed via pkg from my poudriere-devel based builds.) So inside poudriere-devel builds vs. outside poudriere-devel builds somehow matter. I've no clue what the technical issue(s) involved are (yet?). I'll check if: portmaster -DK devel/amd64-gcc also builds.
