I eventually did the following: - returned KVM to vendor - purchased PS2-to-USB keyboard adapter dongle - purchased USB switch - put both keyboard and mouse (now both USB) on USB hub (integrated in my monitor) which is connected to USB switch So, when I need to switch V, K+M, I hit A/B button on my two-input monitor, and hit a button on the USB switch. This works, but is significantly constrained (ie, limited to number of video inputs on monitor; limited to USB keyboards/mice). It would be nice to see the problem really resolved, but I won't lose sleep (or productivity) over it, since it no longer affects me.
