            Bug ID: 280226
Summary: apcupsd battery install date issues with newer devices
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Some People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: f3bandit@gmail.com

Newer battery backup devices don't support battery level, battery install d=
ate,
etc. Except thru their proprietary software. Can someone make changes to the
apcupsd to allow setting the battery install date manually. example pfsense
uses
the most current apcupsd package, but those of use with newer battery backu=
ps.
cannot set this in the eprom on our devices as the manufacturer blocks sett=
ing
those values or apcupsd doesn't know how to communicate with that particular
model. I think adding a simple drop down option for unsupported model to set
that value manually would be a easy option.
