Who has tried 7.0-BETA1, on which hardware? The install went well on my Ultra 30. http://www.alaska.net/~royce/freebsd/sparc64/dmesgs/u30_7.0-BETA1_2007-10-20.txt I notice that the dmesg eeprom hostid display has been disabled ... or at least it's not showing up for me anymore. These new dmesg lines look healthy and match what I see in the release notes: ath_hal: 0.9.20.3 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, RF5413, REGOPS_FUNC) scc0: <Siemens SAB 82532 dual channel SCC> addr 0x1400400000-0x140040007f irq 43 on ebus0 I also see that the CD-ROM appears after the disks now, where it used to appear before them.
