Nothing exotic at all: cmr10.300.pk

The error message is:

    $ xdvi memo
    Note:  overstrike characters may be incorrect.
>>> xdvi: Wrong number of bits stored:  char. 68, font cmr10
    $

Any other font will give the same error message for one character or
another.
