Is it possible that your world is really old? Could you post the output of ``uname -a''? Also the output of ``grep FBSDID /usr/src/bin/mkdir/mkdir.c'' The most plausible explanation is that the argument for the ``directory'' for mkdir wasn't specified. This looks like the Makefile.lib file included the ``files'' directory. look at the ``beforeinstall'' target.
