After a recent upgrade to 12.1 release - I noticed that rc.d/apm is specific to i386; and cannot be enabled on amd64. Does that mean that AMD64 laptops no longer need APM for good power management* ? Any man-page or 'updating' notes one can study to understand ? Dw. *) As prior; enabling it on an Thinkpad X270 appeared to make the battery last a lot longer during lengthy suspends.
