The application, burnz (http://www.thinkertons.com/burnz_features.htm) has a slider that lists the following image formats to burn to: ISO 9660 Level 1 ISO 9660 Level 2 Rock Ridge Extensions Joliet Extensions HFS+ and claims that each higher format incorporates all of the features of the lower ones. By default it choses the "HFS+" format.
