Wouldn't it be better to make anoncvs a round-robin? Unlike CVSup, you 
can't spontaneously change anoncvs servers due to the state encoded in the 
CVS administrative directories in the checked out repository.

Of course, you can't make a round-robin out of CNAMEs (unfortunately) so 
you'd have to make A records which might be problematic.
