Hello Mezz!

After some hours of reading fine manuals I succeded in creating
such a file for a computer algebra system called xmaxima
(ports/math/maxima).
 	-----------------------------------------------
[Desktop Entry]
Name=xMaxima
Name[de]=xMaxima CAS
Exec=/usr/local/bin/xmaxima
Icon=maxima-icon.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
StartupNotify=true
Categories=Application;Graphics;
Encoding=UTF-8

 	---------------------------------------------------
There even exists a tool
 	desktop-file-validate
which checks the .desktop file's syntax. It comes with
/ports/devel/desktop-file-utils
Very important is: there must be no spaces at the end of the
lines.

Now I would also like to create a new menu directory (called
"Math") for xmaxima. Could you give me a hint, how to do this?

Thanks,

Uli.
