I submitted one possiable solution to this problem in PR:conf/18583

Other solutions include just letting DHCP smash the hostname all the
time or having a variable like dhcp_override_hostname in rc.conf.  While
I understand the concern that we don't want to maintain out own dhcp
version, dhclient-script isn't on the vendor branch anyway.
